Creating and managing a fundraising campaign for new Cloister complex
Stefan Lipa Fundraising Consultancy worked with the Dean and Chapter and the Norwich Cathedral Trust on a very ambitious project to raise funds for renewing an area where monastic buildings once stood. With an original target of £4.75 million, this seemed a monumental task for Norfolk. After careful preparation, funds started flowing and the project began to be seen as achievable, but with a revised target of £10 million. Not only was the target of £10 million achieved, but an additional grant of £2.3 million was secured from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The funds have resulted in a superb new Refectory on the site of the largest monastic refectory in the country (well worth a visit), new library facilities, a new Visitor, Music and Education Centre on the site of the old monastic Hostry, and some urgently-required repairs to the magnificent Cloisters.
“The success of the Norwich Cathedral Campaign is in large part due to the planning and support received from Stefan Lipa Fundraising Consultancy. This enabled the fundraising to be carried out on firm and proven foundations from the outset. The advice and moral encouragement given to volunteers has been one of the hallmarks behind the success of the project.”
